Arnestia
The first Arnestia symbol was not woven — it was found. Carved into the sentinel trees of the Deep Oakwood Valley by hands no one could name, it became the first shared mark of the Dark Elves. Every student who passed through the Vael Academy learned to trace it before they learned anything else. It was the first thing taught and the last thing forgotten.
The valley is gone now. The academy with it. But the symbol keeps appearing — on doorframes, on letters, on the collars of strangers in cities that never had a Dark Elf quarter. No one is organizing it. No one has to.
Renye recognized it on a stranger once, years into the hunt. She didn't stop walking. But she remembered the face.
Some marks tell you where someone has been. This one tells you what they chose to carry.
