Renye: Chaos (Embroidered)

She was seven years old. It was raining.

She remembers the rain because it was the last thing that felt normal. After that there was only white — not light, not fire, just white, the way a sound becomes silence when it gets loud enough. She doesn't remember what she did. She remembers what was left.

Nothing was left.

The Joint Councils found her three days later, sitting at the edge of what used to be a village. The moon above her was still white. They didn't ask what happened. They already knew what she was.

They didn't send her home. There was no home to send her to. They sent her somewhere else instead — somewhere with old stone halls and older rules, where what she was could be shaped into something useful.

She learned. She was precise. She was almost always calm.
